NGO The Comrads

The Comrads NGO was established in 2004 in Belgium as a not-for-profit organisation and has steadily grown after several successful fundraising events. Over US$100,000 has already been raised for UNAIDS collaborating centers such as the Harvard AIDS Institute among others.

In 2009, a new organizational structure was established with the goal of increasing our impact on the field. This summer, we also sent our first Comrads Fellow to MATA - a voluntary provincial non-profitable organisation in South Africa that provides home based care and social assistance to TB and HIV patients and their families.

NGO The Comrads is an international not-for-profit organisation ("vzw - asbl") supervised by a Board of Directors and governed by an Executive Committee. The General Assembly is the Comrads' biggest yearly meeting taking place in June and composed of all members of the NGO. The General Assembly elects members of the Executive Committee, decides on amendments to our charter, the dissolution of the NGO and approves our annual accounts and budget.
